Behind the scenes of professor's film shoot
In June, professional actors and crew were flown in from L.A. and other parts of the country to shoot a short film. The project, spearheaded by Assistant Professor of English Pirooz Kalayeh, is called "Race to the Tree," and is about a young man's journey after coming out to his parents doesn't go as expected.
Additionally, two recent Film & Media Studies graduates, Manuel Lopez and Jotham Vega, worked on the crew. The film is being edited and is slated for release in 2026.

Master of Arts in Film and Media Preservation
Combining practical, hands-on training in motion picture preservation with a formal graduate degree program, the Selznick School of Film Preservation and the Department of English offer a Masters of Arts degree program in film and media preservation. Students in the Selznick Graduate Program in Film and Media Preservation work with Film and Media Studies faculty through the Department of English at the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳.
