Amanda Jo Lake, who prefers to go by Ajo, is Deaf. She was born and raised in Montana. Before joining the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ in fall 2025, she lived in Texas for 15 years. Ajo holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ Institute of Technology (RIT) and a Master of Arts degree in Sign Language Education from Gallaudet University. At the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳, she teaches introductory American Sign Language courses: ASL 101, ASL 102 and ASL 105.
